Developing our Spiritual self
It seems appropriate to consider our spiritual self during the Holiday season. It’s Christmas and Hanukkah, a time of year when people of the Christian and Jewish faiths celebrate their heritages. Yet, many of us do not practice a particular faith. We have a spiritual self, but it’s not based in organized religion. Whatever your path, at some point in time, we all ask the same core questions of life. Who am I? Why am I here? Where am I going? These existential questions are rich, complex and necessary as we develop our “true” selves. The author of this Psychology Today blog suggests that throughout our lives we don’t remain stagnant, but rather shift, change and transform through self curiosity and discovery.
Have you questioned your existence? Are you changing and transforming?
Wrestling with these questions is no doubt challenging, but ultimately your search will enrich your spiritual self. Happy contemplation!
