El Camino: I need my Coffee
Coffee, good strong coffee
So, I hear many mornings on the El Camino you get out of the Refugio before the crack of dawn. Your first cup of coffee might be an hour on down the road. Ya, well that won’t work for me. I have a morning routine and my first cup of coffee is within minutes of my waking. I prefer my coffee really hot, and in a certain size ceramic mug. That’s not going to happen starting May 15th. Most likely, I’m going to drink my morning coffee cold out of a Platypus water bottle, and not always on my time schedule. I’ve thought way too much about this, which in itself is a red flag when it comes to addiction. I’m future time traveling. I’m plotting how to get coffee when I want it while traveling the El Camino. I sound sick. I am, sorta. Regardless if I’m a bit over the top here, I’m bringing a stash of instant coffees and a little creamer. I’ll make cold coffee first thing in the morning, in the dark while packing up for the day. I think my plan is in the best interest of my children and fellow pilgrims. An addiction? Most definitely. Yet, I’m not ready to face this issue right now. I’m going with it, and considering this coffee habit a medical necessity. Please offer up your best thinking in regards to my coffee plan. And, don’t judge me. 🙂
Happy trails, Allison
