Kris solidified the foundation to become a catalyst for change when she graduated with her Masters in Social Work from New York University. After completing internships at both Harlem Hospital and Manhattan Mental Health Center, she and her young family moved to the Roaring Fork Valley and never looked back! Kris went on to work in the Aspen Counseling Center’s Intensive Outpatient Program and then with at-risk adolescents in the Diversion Program.
Kris discovered hiking as her own powerful form of therapy and mental health maintenance. Now that her three children have flown the coop, Kris is hitting the trail with great enthusiasm and commitment to help others become the best version of themselves.
Kris is available to provide guided Walk and Talk therapy sessions anywhere from Aspen through Carbondale. She specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, working with Families and Friends of Alcoholics, and loves partnering with motivated clients to move their lives forward.
When she slows down, Kris enjoys volunteering at the Aspen Thrift Shop and doing yoga.
Rachel Turnbow graduated from BYU with a B.S. in Human Development and loves working behind the scenes at Trailtalk. As the daughter of an engineer and a school counselor, she has spent a lot of time organizing and analyzing how to make things more efficient. Rachel has many years of experience as an administrative assistant in several different industries, but she enjoys working in the health and wellness field most as she gets to use her psychology knowledge and organizational skills at the same time.
Rachel grew up spending her summers camping, hiking and fishing from Nevada to Alaska. She now enjoys sharing her love of the outdoors out on the family farm with her husband and their 3 boys. Her greatest joy is being a mom but when she gets a moment to herself, she enjoys cooking, crocheting, or Netflix bingeing.
