Work, Work, Work

Work, Work, Work
I love to work. At the same time, I spend way too much time working. I even work at relaxing. I call yoga “rushing to relax.” Work, work, work. Busy, busy, busy. Sound familiar?
What’s wrong with working hard? Nothing if you’re content, functioning well in all aspects of your life, and finding time to rest and recharge. That’s not the case for some of us. Work has taken over our lives. We no longer work to live, we live to work. We’ve become human-doers instead of human-beings.
As I write this, I realize I’m working too hard at writing about working too hard! Stop the madness! It’s time to practice what I preach, jump on my bike, and ride to work! Yes, I’m riding my bike this morning. That may sound like work to you, but it brings me great joy. It’s why I live in Park City.
- I want to see the changing of the leaves up close and personal.
- I want to hear the Red Tail Hawk hunting for his breakfast.
- I want to feel the wind on my cheeks.
- I want to smell the dirt and the neighbor’s coffee brewing.
- I want to taste to the cold morning air.
Today’s Tip from the Trail is to ask yourself, is your hard work getting you where you want to be, or is it moving you further away from the things you cherish?
It sounds corny, but I am corny. Live life daily. Now get to work!
Happy trails,
Allison
